The Pax Romana Center provides educational resources about Catholic Social
Teaching in the new global era for spiritually and intellectually oriented lay
Catholic-Christian women and men working in secular society and concerned on
a global scale with ecology, human life, justice, and peace.

In particular, the Center serves university students, professionals, and
intellectuals who are members of the global Pax Romana movement.

In the Catholic intellectual tradition, faith and reason -- like religion and science --
are seen as complementary. Thus, the Center provides resources for the biblical-
theological dimension and the philosophical-historical dimension of Catholic
    Social Teaching.

The biblical-theological dimension, which is based on faith and revelation,
teaches us that following Jesus requires a spiritual-intellectual commitment to
social and ecological justice. The philosophical-historical dimension, based on
reason and science, provides a non-religious public language that is acceptable
for ethical discourse in secular professions and institutions.

The secular professions and secular institutions in which lay Catholic-Christians
live their vocation to society include the arts, business, education, government,
health-care, law, media, etc. To serve lay Catholic-Christians working in secular
society, the Pax Romana Center sponsors research, publications, conferences,
    and study-tours.

The Center invites your participation in these projects, and welcomes your
    financial support for them.
